I shoot almost exclusively with women models/athletes. So it was fun to break out of the norm to work on the launch of the Base33 sock brand.
Casting is a big part of what I do. Finding the right person with the right look is key, especially when you’re first launching a brand. I was super lucky to find Ikaika when our photographer threw his name into the mix. I knew the minute I saw him that he was our guy. Ikaika is a true waterman, yogi and photographer. He’d never done Pilates in his life. But he was a trooper and took direction well. When you get to work with someone who knows how to work in front of and behind the lens it’s usually really fun because they just get what you’re looking for!
